It doesn't work

We haven't seen you in ages!
Have you lost weight?
Has she ever been to Europe?

  • Present Perfect Continuous

She has been trying to fix the stove...
We have been doing it wrong!
They haven't been passing their exams lately.

Past:

  • Simple Past

She played tennis
I went to the Gym on mondays but that was a year ago.
Did she go swimming with you, last week?
It didn't work

  • Past continuous
We were trying to learn but it was too noisy.
They were enjoying the blog until I started posting grammar.
What were you cooking?
Was she fighting strangers again?

  • Past Perfect
I had written ten songs before my cd came out
We hadn't seen you since April!
Had you lost some weight in the last month?
Had she ever been to Europe before meeting you?

  • Past Perfect Continuous
Yesterday, I had been working on my essay for 5 hours straight!
She had been trying to fix the stove while her wife was calling for pizza...
We had been doing it wrong, until you showed us how to do it!

They hadn't been passing their exams so the teacher tried something different.
