Frozen፨

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Hello again! It's Chris here, Today we have a lovely song to work with. 'Do you wanna build a snowman?' From the Dysney movie 'Frozen'

Elsa, the blonde girl, has powers. She can manipulate ICE and snowBUT her powers are unstable and she cannot control them. That is the reason why she has LOCKED HERSELF in her bedroom.
Elsa's sister, Anna, had her memories ERASED by a wizard and she cannot remember that her sister has powers. So she does not know the reason behind her sister being locked away and all she wants is to spend time with her sister.

BEFORE WATCHING:

Look up the words in green and red  and then read the lyrics of the song and sing along :D

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Young Anna: Elsa? (knocks on Elsa's door and starts singing)

Do you want to build a snowman? Come on let's go and play. I never see you anymore. Come out the door. (peeks under the door) It's like you've gone away.

(plays alone with an Elsa doll and Anna doll in the ball room)

We used to be best buddies, and now we're not. I wish you would tell me why. (lies down on her back)

(back at Elsa's door, Anna peeks through the keyhole) Do you want to build a snowman? (sings through the keyhole) It doesn't have to be a snowman.

Young Elsa: (behind the door) Go away, Anna.

Young Anna: (her face fell) Okay, bye. (walks away)

(Elsa sits looking at the window, she touches her hand on the windowsill her hands suddenly freeze the windowsill, she noticed it then gasps)

King Agdar: (slides a glove on Elsa's hand) The gloves will help. See? Conceal it. Don't feel it.

Young Elsa and King: Don't let it show.

(scene changes, a much older Anna slides her feet on the floor, stopping in front of Elsa's door. She knocks excitedly on Elsa's door and carries on singing)

Young Anna: Do you want to build a snowman?

Or ride our bike around the halls? (falls down on a metallic soldier statue's arm) I think some company is overdue.

(runs around the art portrait room) I've started talking to the pictures on the walls.

(points at Joan of Arc painting) Hang in there, Joan.

(lies on her back) It gets a little lonely, all these empty rooms. Just watching the hours tick by. (she follows the grandfather clock pendulum with her eyes and portrays the ticking by clicking her tongue)

(in Elsa's room, an older looking Elsa paces in her room looking panicked)

Teen Elsa: I'm scared. It's getting stronger! (she holds out her gloved hands to her parents)

King Agdar: Getting upset only makes it worse. Calm down. (takes a step towards her)

Teen Elsa: (pulls back) No! Don't touch me. Please. I don't want to hurt you.

(Queen Idun held King Agdar's shoulder and they both look at her)

(A teen Anna slides past Elsa's door, she stops, looking at it. She looks away in disappointment, then runs and enters her parents' room and quickly hugs them while they hug back.)

Anna: See you in two weeks!

(King Agdar and Queen Idun walks down the stairs without Anna. There, Elsa stood in front of them. She curtsies formally and looks up)

Elsa: Do you have to go?

King Agdar: You'll be fine, Elsa.

(during a storm the King and Queen are killed when a wave crashes onto their ship, then disappears when the wave lowers)

(Two staffs lowers a black transparent curtain over the portrait of the king and queen. At the funeral, where two stones appear between Anna. Anna walks on the hallway with her head down. She approaches Elsa's door and knocks.)

Anna: Elsa? (sings) Please, I know you're in there. People are asking where you've been. They say have courage and I'm trying to, I'm right out here for you. Just let me in. We only have each other. It's just you and me. What are we gonna do?

Do you want to build a snowman?

(Elsa is sitted in the exact same position as Anna behind the door, her room is now frozen with ice and snowflakes floats in the air, Elsa begins to cry and places her head between her knees, so does Anna sat outside her door.AFTER SINGING:
  1. Do you have any brothers or sisters? If so, how many? Who is the youngest and who is the eldest? In case you don't have any siblings, Would you like to have a brother or a sister?
  2. Why do you think Elsa does not want to play with Anna?
  3. What would you do in Elsa's place?

Until next lesson!

-Chris!
